5 Fandom Friday: Top 5 Fictional Dads

This weeks topic is Top 5 Fictional Dads

1. Atticus Finch from To Kill a Mockingbird.

Atticus is my favorite and arguably the most influential fictional father of all time. He has strong morals and is a fantastic role model. Even being a busy lawyer in an extremely high-profile case he makes time to help his kids with their problems both trivial and life changing.

2. Sam Dawson from I Am Sam.

It takes a lot to make me cry and I spent 85% of this movie in tears. Sam loves his daughter and she is the most important thing in the world to her. When Lucy’s IQ passes his he does anything he can to win custody of her. Watching his pain while some declare him an unfit father is heartbreaking, still he does anything he can to help others and do what he feels is best for his daughter.

3. David Charming from Once Upon A Time.

David controversially decides, along with his wife Snow, to send Emma away to save her from a curse and ultimately save their people. He would do anything to protect her, his son Neil, and his grandson Henry making him a true patriarch for the Charming family.

4. Mufasa from Lion King.

Mufasa was killed early on in his Simbas life. Still he left a lasting legacy on his Son and the pride lands. He taught his son many lessons he would use later on in life. Simba became a great king and leader due largely to his father’s influence.

5. Phil Dunphy from Modern Family.

I knew I had to add Phil to this list because not only does he love his kids unconditionally, his antics are so entertaining. My husband shares many personality traits with Phil and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Honorable Mention: Cam and Mitchell Pritchett from Modern Family.

I know this is the second on the list from Modern Family but I don’t think this list would be the same without them. They are such good fathers to Lily and I really hope they decide to adopt another Baby. They are a power couple who are quickly becoming a power family.
